Amari Cooper has always been an underrated wide receiver, with good seasons with the Raiders, Cowboys, and Browns. But especially since he arrived in Cleveland, the community began to drop him in their Fantasy Football drafts.
Having to play with two quarterbacks last year in Jacoby Brissett and Deshaun Watson, Cooper caught 76 receptions for 1,109 yards and 9 touchdowns in 16 Fantasy Football games.
In 2022, Amari Cooper finally had the volume we wanted so badly and finished as a WR17:
6.1% target share (16th)
26.1% target per route run rate (20th)
38.3% air yard share (17th)
12th in red zone and deep targets
Cooper should benefit from a full offseason with Deshaun Watson taking reps. Before missing nearly two full seasons, Deshaun Watson managed to convert a Top 10 wide receiver for three straight seasons.
2020: Fuller WR8 (17.2 PPG)
2019: Hopkins WR5 (17.9 PPG)
2018: Hopkins WR3 (20.3 PPG)
Cooper will enter 2023 at the age of 29, so there is some concern if his production could start to decline. However, if Watson returns to playing at a high level, Amari Cooper would be a huge steal with Top 10 potential to land in the third or fourth round of the Fantasy Football draft.
