Next week, the Jacksonville Jaguars plan to interview Green Bay Packers offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett. He has been with Green Bay since 2019 when Matt LaFleur was hired.

Hackett has been a part of the NFL's best offenses in his time with the Packers. The Packers are 13-3 and clinched the NFC's No.1 seed. LaFleur calls the plays, but Hackett's fingerprints are still all over the offense.

Hackett was the Jaguars' quarterbacks coach from 2015 to 2016 and offensive coordinator from 2016 to 2018 before getting fired in the middle of the 2018 season. The Jaguars reached the AFC Championship Game in the 2017 season. Hackett was also Buffalo Bills offensive coordinator in 2013-214.

He coached quarterbacks EJ Manuel, Thad Lewis, and Jeff Tuel; the Bills ranked 29th in passing offense that year but had an outstanding running game with halfbacks C. J. Spiller and Fred Jackson. In 2013 the Bills finished second in rushing with 144 yards per game.

When Kyle Orton took over for Manuel as the Bills' quarterback the following year, the team finished with a more respectable passing offense, but the run game suffered. In addition, he spent some time in college coaching at UC Davis, Stanford, and Syracuse.

The Jaguars interviewed former Philadelphia Eagles coach Doug Pederson last week, Tampa Bay Buccaneers defensive coordinator Todd Bowles on Monday, and former Detroit Lions and Indianapolis Colts coach Jim Caldwell on Tuesday.

They also requested interviews with Dallas Cowboys offensive coordinator Kellen Moore, Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive coordinator Bryon Leftwich, and Indianapolis defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus.

Jacksonville is making sure they leave no stone unturned after failing with Urban Meyer; the Jaguars must get this head coaching choice right.
